August Favourites

This august I've really been loving quite a few things so I've narrowed it down a bit, believe it or not.

I went to the Body Shop with my mum and picked up a Mango Body Butter. I'd never tried the body butters from here before, just because I've always relied on the Palmers Body Lotion which is cheaper, but they're honestly sooo nice and keep your skin moisturised for ages. They also smell amazing, so I went back and picked up another one which is the Strawberry Body Butter. I'd really recommend them. They're £13 each.

I picked a few bits up from Primark which I love as well. Sometimes they have really nice stuff in there. So the first thing is a baby blue fluffy jumper, which was £12 I think. It just looked so so comfy and cozy so I had to get it. And I had an excuse, because it's coming up to autumn so we all need lots of snuggly jumpers.

The second thing from Primark is a tan coloured shoulder bag. I've been looking for a nice one for ages, but had no look in finding one. Anyway it just shows that sometimes the more expensive ones aren't always best. It's really pretty and it was only £8!

Again I got another £8 bag from Primark. This time I had no excuse, because I bought it the same time as the tan coloured bag so I really didn't need it at all, but I just really liked it. It's another shoulder bag but in baby pink! It's so cute!

The last thing from Primark was an Umbrella. As you probably know I'm starting college soon and I have to get there on the train so during the colder months I could get a little wet. It was only £3 and they had various colours and patterns, this one was my favourite though.

With it being colder my lips started to feel a little dry the other day, so as I'm addicted to LUSH, I got the Honey Trap Lip Balm which was £5.75. It's helped loads and I love it, I can't stop using it! Also it worked really quickly, like over night my lips were back to normal.

For a fair few years now I've loved Vivienne Westwood, mainly the jewellery. I have 2 pairs of the signature earrings, ones is the typical diamante silver orb £70, and the other is a diamante red heart orb £65 and I still love them both and wear them still constantly after all these years. And whilst talking about Vivienne Westwood, I've been really cheeky and keep borrowing my mums purple orb necklace which was a hundred and something pound? But I don't think they have it for sale anymore, because it was limited addition.

I've been wearing some casual dresses lately with boots, and I've been putting a belt on the middle of the dress and like 'boofing' the dress a little over the belt if you understand me? Anyway the belt I've been loving is my Chanel one which my mum bought for me summer 2013, and I've never really worn it until now, only because I lost it and found it recently when cleaning out my wardrobes.

A few months back my mum ordered me a Cartier bracelet and ring and a Hermes bracelet. Turned out the site was funny and we didn't actually order them and I was gutted! However I come home a few weeks ago to a gold Cartier bracelet with Swarovski crystals in and I was soo made up and it was totally unexpected!

Something completely unrelated is TV programmes. So some of you will be completely uninterested now, but I love watching documentaries about like crime and murder and horror. Basically horrible true stories. I don't have any idea why I actually enjoy watching these, but they just really interest me. Theres no specific one I've loved more than the others, but I've just loved them all in general and watched them a lot.

And the final thing guys, is blogging. I started this blog over the summer to keep me busy and because I just knew I'd enjoy it. I had no idea if anyone would read it or like it, but it's gotten to the point now where some of you have started to message me saying that you really like my blog and complimenting me and asking me questions and giving me suggestions on what else to write about. It's honestly really lovely and I will reply to every single one of you, even though at the moment theres only about 10, I appreciate it so much. It's also really strange and I hope this person doesn't mind me mentioning them, but part of their message said "I know you probably get tonnes of messages like this, but I love your blog and would love it if you replied!!!" And when I did reply to this girls question she was so sweet and she said that she freaked out a little, because she thought I'd probably ignore her! It's so good to know your enjoying my posts and I want you all to know that I will be starting youtube videos at Christmas when I get my lighting, so hopefully you can look forward to watching them as much as I'm looking forward to making them.

College Stationary Haul

With going back to college I've had to pick up some stationary, and I know it's not for everyone but if your interested then here it is.

Boring basic biro pens are essential. I got a pack from "The Works" with 5 black, 5 blue and 2 red and I'm pretty sure it was only £1.99.

I also got 2 nicer pens, so if someone wants to 'borrow' a pen, I can give them a biro and keep the better ones for myself. These were also from "The Works" and I can't remember how much they were, but there was an offer on if you bought 2.

Again I can't remember how much they were but all of the stuff from "The Works" was really cheap! So I seen these pens and pencils with a gemstone on the end of them which I thought was really cute so I had to get one of each.

I got myself 2 notebooks from "The Works", I already have an A4 one, but I also bought an A5 and A6 just incase I need them. I think the A6 one will be useful for keeping track of homework.

These next things, my mum got me, so I'm not sure where they're from or how much. Anyway below is one of them pens with a rubber, 3 floral pencils that look like pens, a floral A5 notebook, a pack of 6 highlighters and a Ted Baker pencil case.

Treats

Sometimes it's nice to treat yourself and others around you. So I've been very busy lately with getting prepared for college, and I just haven't had time to sit and write a blog post. I'm one of those people who get very stressed out when I'm too busy, so I've bought myself a couple of new things and have also had a couple of things bought for me which I thought I'd share with you.

Firstly I posted a picture on my second Instagram account of some River Island shoes I wanted.

I picked them up as a little thing to cheer myself up after a stressful week. They were £60 and I think they're fairly new to River Island so there should be loads left and they're also available on the website.

Whilst on the subject of River Island and shoes, my friend bought me a pair which was really nice of them and I really appreciated it and I know they will read this so thank you so much!! They're white patent leather loafers, and they'll be really handy for college, I can see myself getting a lot of wear out of them.

My friend also bought me this Yankee Candle in "Beach Flowers" which smells amazing! It's meant to be a floral scent, but I actually think it smells a bit fruity and the fruity ones are what I usually go for, so I love it. I'll probably get another one when it runs out.

Another thing I bought was a Soda Stream for our kitchen. I was worried it wouldn't taste as good as bought drinks, but they're really good. There's so many flavours, my personal favourite is tropical. I think it's a great investment for any household if your often buying drinks, it will save you so much money! Link to the website is below, they come in various colours and shapes.

Sorry I haven't posted in the past week and I know this is only a short post, but I just thought I'd let you know my recent purchases.
Comment with ideas for new posts I can do?

July Favourites

As you can see from the title above, this is gong to be about things I've been loving last month. I know it's a little late and I should have done this at the start of august, but better late than never.

First of all, I always have a yankee candle. But the one I've just finished, I bought just over a month ago and I really really like it. It's called "Bahama Breeze". It smells like pineapple, grapefruit and mango. Unfortunately because it's just ran out I don't have a picture of it, but I'll leave a link below.

To Buy Bahama Breeze - Click Here

My favourite lip product has been the Maybelline Baby Lips in "Cherry Me". It leaves your lips feeling really moisturised and smells amazing. It also leaves a pinky red tint on your lips which is really pretty and it's great to give your lips some colour when you don't want to use a lipstick. Also because it's so small, it's easy to throw in your bag and take wherever you go.

I've really been loving wearing my high waisted white jeans. I feel like they're really summery, because they're white, so I'm trying to get as much wear out of them possible before summer ends. I like to pair them with this top and a statement necklace.

I bought a shoulder bag last month, and I have used it a lot when I go out. It's from River Island but it reminds me of the Chanel bags with the chain straps. I got black, because it will go with everything, but there's other colours too. Also it has a really handy cushion on the chain so that the bag doesn't hurt your shoulder.

Last month I bought the Rimmel Stay Matte Translucent Powder. I know a lot of people that use it and speak highly of it, but I've just never tried it. I've been loving it and find it really helps keep my make up on all day, so now I've hit pan already! Excuse the messiness of it, it's clearly been used a lot!

Mascara wise I've been using the Jordana Best Lash Extreme Volumising Mascara. It's by far the cheapest one I've seen, but also by far the best. It makes your lashes so long, I think this is now my holy grail mascara!

I've started using BooTea teatox, and I've been having it in my Minnie Mouse mug from Disneyland Paris. I'm just obsessed with this mug I don't know why... And it has a little spoon that comes with it and fits into the handle!

If you ask anyone I see often, usually I'm wearing my black boots. I just feel they go with everything and always look good. I got mine from ARK last year, but you can get them anywhere to be honest and usually around £30.

Last Christmas my nan bought me a statement necklace from River Island. I loved it so so much, but it broke! My mum finally got it fixed last month so I've been wearing it all the time.

The final thing I've been loving is my fluffy floral blanket from Primark. I love to be all cozy and snuggle up warm with hot chocolate etc... I'm sure you all love doing the same type of thing. And it was only £10!

Comment a link to your own monthly favourites and I'll have a read.

Top 5 Lipsticks

So as you can see, this is a post about my top 5 favourite lipsticks currently. There is a mixture of drugstore and high-end, because I tried to do my top 5 drugstore lipsticks, but I just couldn't leave MAC out.

Starting on the first two on the left, is the MAC Lady Gaga limited edition and unfortunately I don't know the shades on either of these. These go on so smoothly and they're super shiny so it creates the look that you have gloss on as well. The first colour I love and used to wear daily, it suits my skin tone well and virtually goes with anything. Clearly the second lipstick is much more pink, which I don't normally go for, because I don't feel like I suit pinks at all. So what I like to do is take a lip brush and swipe it on the lipstick to get a small amount of colour. Then just blend it into your lips and it kind of works as a lip stain. Obviously this takes a bit longer than just applying it normally, but it's the only way I suit it and I don't want to waste a MAC lipstick.

Next is the Maybelline Color Sensational in shade "547 - pleasure me red". I love the packaging on this, I just think it's really sleek and classy. The lipstick itself has amazing staying power and lasts for ages, you don't have to worry about it rubbing off. It's only drugstore so it was really cheap, I think it was around £4 or £5. Also I love red lipstick and think it suits every skin tone.

Which brings me nicely onto the next lipstick which is also red, but it's very dark and a matte shade. It's the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in shade "107". Again I think this goes with all skin tones and with being a matte shade it lasts much longer. The packaging on this is really nice too. In this range, there's lots of other shades and there's a selection of shades which aren't matte as well.

Lastly on the right is a Clinique Long Last Lipstick in "Blushing Nude". I went through a phase of wearing this 24/7, describing the lipsticks is actually really difficult, but I love this one a lot. I would never have picked it up myself, my nan gave it to me. Usually I don't use Clinique make up, because my skin doesn't react well to it, but this is just so nice and I recommend it.

Please leave a comment of your favourite lipsticks or glosses etc... I'm open to give them a try.

Acne Skincare

So it may be a surprise to those who know me, because I never talk about it or bring it up, but I actually have acne. Fortunately when it comes to my skin I am the biggest drama queen ever!! I've always had pretty good skin growing up, so when I suddenly had about 5 spots I freaked out and demanded my mum to take me to the doctors. Long story short, they told me that being over dramatic has helped me, because I had very early stages of acne which luckily can be cleared up very quickly when diagnosed early enough.

I knew many girls and boys who I grew up with who suffered with acne and it completely destroyed their confidence. I'd say that the majority of people who get acne find it very difficult to treat it easily or even treat it at all. People try so many different products, creams and tablets, and in the end it usually just irritates the affected areas further. However I feel extremely fortunate that the very first thing I was given worked fantastically!

My doctor perscribed me with 2 products. The first was a cream called "ACNECIDE" and the second was a box of tablets called "Lymecycline Capsules".

I'm not sure whether they both work, or it's one or the other. Either way by using these, my skin cleared up in two days!! I was over the moon. And I seriously highly recommend these to everyone with acne. The only downside is that the ACNECIDE cream can dry your skin out, so you should get a really moisturising face cream to use when needed. I use the "Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief", although it is a little pricey so I'm sure there will be a cheaper alternative.

Hope this helps someone. Let me know?

LUSH Face Products

Up until this year I hadn't tried any LUSH face products. I was always just drawn to the bath bombs and bubble bars and basically all of the fun things. But after reading good reviews I decided to give a few face products a try and review them.

So the first one I tried was "Ultrabland". This is a facial cleanser which claims to take your makeup off. All you need to do is put a layer evenly all over your face and then wash it off with warm water (I use a flannel). To be honest I didn't have high hopes for this, because sometimes its quite difficult to remove makeup, but this really works and I highly recommend it, especially if you have sensitive skin and can't use makeup wipes. Also it makes your skin feel really smooth which is obviously a bonus.

The second one I tried was "Angels On Bare Skin". The best way I can describe this is that it's basically a face scrub. It's very difficult to explain, but it's like a clump of herbs and things stuck together and you just have to take a small piece off and mix it with a bit of warm water so it forms a paste, then start scrubbing your face with it and wash it off when done. It gets all of the dead skin off and unclogs your pores. I really like this, it makes you feel really clean.

The third and final product I tried was "Tea Tree Water". This is a spray which you spray onto your bare face about three times and let it soak in. I love it, because it's really refreshing. Tea tree is really good for you, so putting it on your face will keep your skin in good condition and help clear up any spots or blemishes you may have.

If you have any LUSH face products you've tried and you would recommend to other people, please comment and let me know and I'll do a review on them.

Re-using Yankee Candle Jars

So recently I've gone through a lot of Yankee candles and I kind of have a little obsession with them. Personally I favour these candles over any others, because the scents are so strong and fill not only the whole room, but the entire house! Also they have such a wide variety of scents, so it's certain that there will be something for everyone's taste. But what do we do with the big glass jars left over once the candles are burned out? Just throw them away? No!! I have come up with many ways to re-use them and they genuinely look really pretty. The best part about this is that it's so so easy and simple.

First you will need to wash out the jar and get rid of any left over wax. Then decorate the jar with felt, ribbons, buttons, gemstones, fabrics and just anything you can think of to make it tie in with the room your putting it in. I have a few examples below:-

As you can see I've kept my jars very simple, all I wanted on them was a ribbon. Obviously you can make them much nicer and spend more time on them, but I liked mine like this. Clearly I have been using my jar as a vase for some flowers, however before that I had makeup brushes in there which looked really good. Some other ideas are to put in bobbles and clips, pens and pencils, nail varnishes etc...

Please send me the pictures of what you've done with your jars! I'd love to see them!!
